National Talent Search Examination


In order to identity & groom talented Indian students, this scholarship program has been developed. It is a National level exam which aids and honors students who are talented in the form of scholarship. This is a monthly scholarship which is paid to the student throughout his Academic career. The eligibility for this selection process is class X. In India this examination is considered as the most prestigious exam because it is conducted by the govt. official body i.e. NCERT.

Selection Process

For the scholarship to be awarded to the students there is a two stage selection process through which the candidate has to pass.

Stage 1 : Selection process is through written examination and is done by States or Union Territories.

Stage 2 : Every State/ UT has its particular quota in which a specific number of students can be
               recommended for the stage 2 examination. For detailedenquiry students can visit the NCERT

Note: Only those students who qualify Stage 1 will be considered to be eligible for Stage II examination of NTSE.

Written Examination Pattern

Stage 1 : There are two parts in the stage 1 exam conducted at State/ UT level. The first part is called
               Mental Ability Test i.e. MAT & second part is called Scholastic Ability Test i.e. SAT which
               includes topics like Social Science, Mathematics, Sciences and also includes Language
               Comprehensive Test.

Stage 2 : Examination which is conducted at National Level includes 2 parts. First part is called Mental
                Ability Test i.e. MAT and second part is called Scholastic Ability Test i.e. SAT which includes
                Social Science, Science, Mathematics and also the Language Comprehensive Test.

Why should student appear for NTSE?

As already mentioned above NTSE is the most prestigious scholarship examination conducted in India by NCERT which is an official body. Also it is one of the oldest scholarship exams in India. Every year around 1000 NTSE scholars are awarded the scholarship after stage 2 examination. These NTSE scholars are awarded high respect in the society.

Also this examination aids the students who are talented and honors them in the form of financial help by giving monthly scholarship. In the present scenario the scholarship is given to the students for not only pursuing courses in sciences & social sciences up to doctoral level but also for professional courses like medicine and engineering up to second – degree level. Scholarships awarded are subject to the fulfillment of certain conditions.

How a student can prepare for NTSE?
